Top 35 Shows of 2014: No 4 Parks and Recreation
Parks and Recreation has had so many false series finales that is is incredible how well it keeps pulling them off, in fact after the double whammy of Ann and Chris and Moving Up its hard to see how the proper series finale will manage to out-do them but this is a show that knows how to hit the right emotional beats and bring the laughter. When it comes to big moments Parks and Recreation consistently does great.
So either when Ann Perkins and Chris Traeger’s storyline at the start of S6 was a little stuck in baby mode and often separate from the rest of the characters it didn’t matter because they got an amazingly heartfelt send off in episode 13. And if the idea of Leslie struggling with pregnancy and newborns didn’t sound amazing well don’t worry because the show decide to skip all of that with a surprising jump into the future for its final season.
Parks and Recreation enters its final stretch next month and to say I’m going to miss it is an understatement, it has been in my Best of list for the last 5 years and has been my favourite comedy for most of those years as well. I know all good things must end but I really don’t want to say goodbye to Pawnee.
